Saudi Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Waleed Elkhereiji has described the attacks carried out against the Kingdom by what he called the terrorist Houthi militia as fully fledged war crimes, speaking at a meeting today in Riyadh with ambassadors of European and African countries accredited to Saudi Arabia.
Opening the meeting at the ministry's headquarters, Elkhereiji said the group had used ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones against airports and civilian and economic facilities in the Kingdom. By deliberately targeting Makkah, Madinah, Umrah performers and visitors, he said, these attacks had crossed every moral and religious line.
He stressed that the Kingdom would show no leniency in protecting its citizens, residents and visitors, and would take all legitimate measures to defend its territory, repel aggression and deter aggressors. He also reaffirmed that Saudi Arabia would keep supporting the Yemeni people and their legitimate government and helping them confront the attacks of the terrorist Houthi militias.
The ambassadors, for their part, renewed their countries' condemnation of the attacks on the Kingdom, its civilian objects and its vital facilities. They voiced their governments' solidarity with the steps Saudi Arabia is taking to counter the attacks, preserve its security and stability, and protect citizens and residents.
