The Royal Institute of Traditional Arts, known as Wrth, took Saudi crafts to Riyadh Energy Week, which ran alongside the World Petroleum Congress, giving international delegations a modern window on the Kingdom's artistic heritage.

At its stand, Wrth entrepreneurs displayed their hand-made products, information panels introduced the traditional arts of different regions of Saudi Arabia, and "Wrth Cinema" screened footage documenting these crafts. An interactive mural invited visitors to colour traditional patterns themselves.

The participation forms part of the institute's drive to raise the profile of Saudi traditional arts at international events and to put the work of artisans and entrepreneurs in front of a global audience.

Since 2021, Wrth has trained Saudi nationals keen to learn and practise traditional arts, following a strategy built on empowering, supporting and developing the crafts sector to preserve the national cultural heritage.
