Drivers in Dammam should expect disruption next Sunday, when the Eastern Province Municipality begins a partial closure of the King Fahd Road tunnel at its intersection with Al-Khalifa Omar bin Al-Khattab Street to carry out maintenance on its concrete surfaces and improve its appearance.
The municipality said the right lane will be closed in both directions, with the work carried out in two consecutive phases in each direction, handled separately.
It urged motorists to follow traffic instructions and approved diversions while the work is under way, and to use alternative routes, especially at peak times, to avoid congestion and keep traffic moving safely.
The work is part of the municipality's efforts to improve road infrastructure and traffic safety in line with the strategies of the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing.
