Saudi Arabia's national cricket team has won Group B of the Asia sub-regional qualifier for the 2028 ICC Men's T20 World Cup, winning all five of its matches in the tournament hosted by Malaysia and booking a place in the next qualifying stage, set for 2027.

The team opened with a win over Singapore, then beat hosts Malaysia before seeing off Hong Kong and China to wrap up the title with a round to spare. A final victory over the Maldives left them top of the group on 10 points, unbeaten.

Saudi Ambassador to Malaysia Osamah Alahmadi handed the trophy to the team.

Prince Saud bin Mishal bin Mohammed, Chairman of the Saudi Arabian Cricket Federation, said the title was an important milestone for the national team and reflected the growth of cricket in the Kingdom. He said work would continue on developing players, technical programmes and infrastructure, and on giving the team more international competition.

He added that the federation's goal goes beyond trophies to building a sustainable system that strengthens Saudi Arabia's place on the global cricket map. The team now turns to the 2027 stage on the road to the 2028 T20 World Cup.
