Jazan Region is promoting its Red Sea coastline as a place for rest, exercise and quiet reflection, as seaside sites gain importance for leisure, social life and new tourism and investment opportunities.

What visitors find depends on where they go: some stretches are open beaches, others keep their natural formations intact, and the ecologically rich Farasan Islands offer more options for those who like to explore.

On the waterfronts, families settle into seating areas facing the sea, walkers take the dedicated paths and others watch the waves from nearby benches. Shades, benches, walkways, trees, palms and lawns give people places to rest and link the different parts of each site. Jazan City's waterfront, with its pedestrian zones, seating and play areas built through municipal projects, is one example.

At sunset the horizon changes colour and seabirds pass over the water, drawing photographers, and after dark lighting along the shore keeps the paths and seating areas busy with visitors.

The coast also offers room for hospitality, restaurants, cafés and entertainment, creating openings for small businesses, productive families and entrepreneurs. Keeping that appeal depends on protecting the marine environment by regulating use and keeping beaches clean and facilities well run, which can give the region a competitive edge on Saudi Arabia's tourism map.
