King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (KFSH) now has 41 of its scientists on Stanford University's list of the top 2% of researchers worldwide whose published work is most frequently cited, an achievement that reinforces the hospital's standing in global research.
Prof. Jackie Y. Ying, the hospital's Chief Research and Innovation Officer, said the figure represents an increase of six over the 35 KFSH scientists listed in 2025. She said she hoped more of the hospital's researchers and medical staff would earn the same recognition for the impact of their published work.
This is the seventh consecutive year in which KFSH scientists have appeared on the list. The hospital says the recognition reflects the growing reach of its scientific output and the role of its research and clinical teams in turning findings into practical applications that improve care, in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
Launched in 2019 and updated every year with the latest citation data, the Stanford list ranks researchers by the impact of their work. It covers more than 180 thousand researchers across 22 scientific fields and 174 sub-fields, with two separate rankings: one for career-long impact and one for impact over the most recent year.
KFSH was also ranked first in the Middle East and Africa and 12th worldwide among the top 250 academic healthcare institutions for 2026, named the most valuable healthcare brand in the Kingdom and the Middle East by Brand Finance for 2026, and included in Newsweek's 2026 lists of the World's Best Hospitals, Best Smart Hospitals and Best Specialized Hospitals.
