The Saudi Red Crescent Authority's teams in the Makkah region received 37,393 emergency calls during September 2026, as part of their ongoing ambulance services for citizens, residents and visitors across the region.

Jeddah governorate recorded the largest share with 17,395 calls, followed by the holy city of Makkah with 15,047 and Taif governorate with 4,951. Paramedic teams handled all cases in line with approved medical protocols.

In specialised care, the authority dealt with 80 cases through its heart attack pathway and 69 through its stroke pathway, coordinating with the relevant health facilities so that patients could receive the treatment they needed more quickly.

The authority said it would keep strengthening its operational readiness and the efficiency of its services through the deployment of its teams and coordination with other agencies. It urged the public to cooperate with paramedics, make way for ambulances, and report emergencies on the unified number 997.
