Saudi Arabia's national cricket team has secured the Group 2 title in the Asian preliminary qualifiers for the 2028 ICC T20 World Cup with a round still to play in Malaysia, after winning all four of its matches. The result guarantees the team a place in the next stage of the Asian qualifiers, scheduled for 2027.

The title was sealed with a 64-run victory over China. Saudi Arabia had opened the tournament by beating Singapore by 75 runs, then defeated hosts Malaysia by 3 wickets and overcame Hong Kong by 10 runs.

With 8 points from four wins, the Saudi side sits top of the group, ahead of Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, China and the Maldives.

Despite having already won the group, the team will play its final match against the Maldives on October 14, aiming to complete the qualifiers without a defeat.

The title is the team's third in official competitions organized by the Asian Cricket Council and the International Cricket Council, reflecting the growth of the game in the Kingdom as the team continues its journey towards the 2028 T20 World Cup.
