The National Water Company has completed a set of sewage system projects in Baljurashi governorate in Al-Baha Region at a total cost exceeding SAR 214 million. The company said the work is part of its efforts to upgrade infrastructure, improve the system's efficiency and raise the quality of services for beneficiaries, in support of Saudi Vision 2030 targets and the quality of life programmes.
The centrepiece is a tertiary wastewater treatment plant using biological membrane technology, with a total capacity of 6,250 cubic metres per day. The company also laid sewage networks totalling almost 46 kilometres and main lines of more than 17 kilometres, and built two lift stations.
According to the company, the projects cover several neighbourhoods and parts of a number of villages in the governorate, extending sewage coverage, making the system more efficient and reliable and supporting environmental sustainability.
The company urged customers in the areas now served to request household sewage connections through its digital channels: the National Water app for smartphones or its e-branch at e.nwc.com.sa.
