Oil prices ended today's session in positive territory as Hurricane Isaias tracked toward the northern Gulf of Mexico, prompting oil companies to shut in more than 70% of crude production in US waters.
Brent crude futures settled at $104.72 a barrel, a gain of 44 cents, or 0.42%.
US benchmark West Texas Intermediate settled at $91.85 a barrel, up 36 cents, or 0.39%, leaving both benchmarks with similar gains as the storm disrupted offshore production in the region.
