Hans Grundberg, the United Nations Special Envoy for Yemen, has called for an immediate end to the terrorist Houthi militia's attacks on civilian infrastructure and energy facilities in Saudi Arabia, condemning in particular the latest strikes on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and Abha International Airport, in which civilians were killed and injured.
Briefing the UN Security Council today, Grundberg said Houthi threats to merchant ships with links to the Kingdom in the Red Sea were eroding freedom of navigation and raising the danger to sea trade routes and to global energy markets.
The envoy also cautioned that Yemen risked sliding back into all-out war, as military operations had widened across several fronts over the past few weeks.
