Yemen's government has denounced in the strongest terms the terrorist attack that targeted King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, declaring its full and steadfast solidarity with Saudi Arabia's leadership, government and people.
The government said the attack was a serious hostile escalation showing the terrorist Houthi militia's insistence on threatening the Kingdom's security, striking civilian facilities and putting civilian lives at risk. Targeting airports and civilian infrastructure, it said, is an unacceptable assault on the security and stability of states and a breach of international rules and laws.
According to the statement, the attack once again exposes the aggressive nature of the militia, which keeps widening its threats against the foundations of regional security and stability in the service of the Iranian agenda and its destructive projects.
The government stressed that the Kingdom's security cannot be separated from that of Yemen and the region, and that any attack on Saudi territory or civilian facilities targets the right of the region's peoples to security, stability, freedom of movement and safe air travel. Such attacks, it added, will not weaken the brotherly ties and shared destiny of the two countries, and Yemen supports every measure the Kingdom takes to protect its security, facilities and sovereignty.
Yemen's government also renewed its appreciation for the pivotal role of Saudi Arabia, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, in backing Yemen and its legitimate leadership, helping Yemenis restore their state and institutions, and reinforcing regional security.
