A Saudi aid plane carrying a range of relief supplies touched down in Nepal yesterday. The flight was dispatched by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) on the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Nepal's Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Mahabir Pun, was among the officials who received the plane, together with the Saudi Ambassador to Nepal, Fahd bin Mohammed bin Mnikhr, and the director of the Central and West Asia and Central Africa Division at Nepal's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

A specialist KSrelief team will work with the relevant authorities to organize distribution, so the supplies reach those hit by the recent floods, which caused heavy loss of life and property across Nepal.

The Nepalese government's representative thanked the Kingdom's leadership for the support, saying it reflected the depth of friendship between the two countries.

Ambassador bin Mnikhr said the assistance shows the Kingdom's determination, guided by its leadership, to stand by friendly nations as they deal with the humanitarian fallout of natural disasters, and underlines its leading role in international humanitarian work. The aid forms part of the support Saudi Arabia channels through KSrelief to people in need in brotherly and friendly countries in times of crisis.
