Qassim Region is strengthening its lead in the Kingdom's palm and date sector, backed by a large farming base and fast growth in sorting, packaging and food processing, in line with Saudi Vision 2030's goal of diversifying non-oil exports.

Figures from the National Center for Palms and Dates show Qassim is the Kingdom's largest date-producing region by volume, with 584,127.8 tons a year from about 13,403 farm holdings and 10.87 million palm trees.

According to the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture branch in Qassim, the region is third nationally by number of date factories, with 25 processing and manufacturing plants and a combined annual capacity of over 390,000 tons, backed by investment and financing estimated at SAR313 million.

These plants turn raw dates into higher-value products such as date paste, syrups, concentrated drinks, natural vinegar and coated or filled premium items. Lower-grade dates and pits are used for animal feed, bio-oils and industrial inputs, cutting waste and adding value as part of a circular economy.
