Sports fields in Turaif Governorate are becoming increasingly popular with young people, who see them as the place to play football in an organised and competitive setting.

The growing number of public and private pitches has energised local sport, giving the governorate modern venues that stage tournaments throughout the year, encouraging more people to play and lifting the level of community competitions.

People involved in local sport see the fields as a route to discovering and developing young talent, noting that closer links between private pitches, sports facilities and academies have created an environment that supports participation.

The competitions also give young people a productive way to use their free time and bring residents closer together.

The fields' role in nurturing talent and spreading a sporting culture is in line with Saudi Vision 2030's aims of improving quality of life and getting more people physically active.
