Fahad Alfarraj, President of the Saudi Wrestling Federation, has been appointed to the Council of the Asian Wrestling Federation as the representative of the West Asia region.

Asian federation president Mohammed Al-Awamleh congratulated Alfarraj, praising his leadership experience and his work to support and develop the sport, and stressed the need for continued cooperation to grow wrestling across West Asia and the wider continent.

The Saudi federation said the appointment acknowledges the Kingdom’s role in developing sport and reflects the growing number of Saudi sports figures in leadership roles within continental bodies, as well as the Kingdom’s rising profile on the Asian sporting stage.
