A health awareness guide for the 1447 AH Hajj season, published in eight languages, has been launched by the Ministry of Health and the Public Health Authority (Weqaya) to strengthen prevention among pilgrims. In line with the Health Sector Transformation Program under Saudi Vision 2030, it offers content for every stage of the pilgrim's health journey, starting with pre-Hajj requirements.
The guide covers prevention in depth, including protection from heat exhaustion and heatstroke and detailed advice on limiting respiratory infections in crowded settings.
It also contains first aid instructions with quick steps to help pilgrims deal with emergencies before reaching medical care.
Priority groups receive particular attention, with tailored advice on managing their health during Hajj to reduce possible complications while they perform the rites. The guide also includes advice on food safety and preventing foodborne illness.
The guide is available in Arabic, English, French, Urdu, Persian, Indonesian, Turkish and Malay, so that health messages reach pilgrims of different nationalities.
The two bodies said they will keep developing awareness content that encourages preventive behavior and helps pilgrims perform their rites safely, and invited pilgrims to read the guide at https://static.moh.gov.sa/assets/pdf/Hajj-Book-English.pdf.
