Somalia has strongly condemned the attack on the Taibah electricity distribution station in Madinah.

In a statement today, the Somali Ministry of Foreign Affairs said targeting infrastructure serving a city that is home to one of Islam’s holiest sites violates the sanctity of these sacred places, and is a clear breach of international law and of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty.

The ministry declared Somalia’s full solidarity with the Saudi government and people and its support for the Kingdom’s efforts to protect its sovereignty, maintain security and safeguard its citizens, residents and visitors to the holy sites.
