The Saudi Electronic University will become Prince Musaid bin Abdulrahman University, after the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud directed the change on the recommendation of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

The new name honours the late Prince Musaid bin Abdulrahman Al Saud and reflects the leadership's appreciation of his distinguished contributions and long service to the nation.
