Sultan Haitham bin Tarik of Oman has received a written message from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, inviting him to take part in the second summit between the Gulf Cooperation Council and the European Union, to be held in Saudi Arabia during October.

The letter was handed over today by the Saudi Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, Ibrahim bin Saad bin Bishan, when he was received by Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali Alharthy, Undersecretary of Oman's Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs.

The invitation comes as the Kingdom prepares to host the second edition of the summit bringing together GCC member states and the European Union.
