Customs officers at the Kingdom's land, sea and air ports made 1,051 seizures of banned goods in one week, the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) said, as part of its efforts to protect society and strengthen security.

The haul included 26 types of narcotics, among them hashish, cocaine, heroin, shabu (methamphetamine) and amphetamine pills, along with 253 prohibited items, 770 cases involving tobacco and its products, and 15 seizures of cash.

ZATCA said it will keep tightening customs control over the Kingdom's imports and exports in coordination with its partner agencies.

The authority urged the public to report smuggling and breaches of the Unified Customs Law via the security reporting number 1910, by email at 1910@zatca.gov.sa or on the international number 009661910. Reports are handled in strict confidence, and informants receive a financial reward if their information proves correct.
