Horse racing returns to King Abdulaziz Racecourse in Riyadh tomorrow as the 2026-2027 Riyadh Racing Season gets under way. Coming on the heels of a successful Taif Racing Season, the campaign lasts six months, or 24 weeks, and ends on 17 April 2027, with top stables, trainers and jockeys taking part.

Prize money for the season totals SAR236.3 million, the most ever offered in the Riyadh season. The calendar includes the Saudi Cup, billed as the world's richest horse race, worth more than $38 million.

Racegoers can expect 50 race meetings with 569 races in all, staged every Friday and Saturday, along with 52 major cup races. Arabian horses will contest 104 races and Thoroughbreds 465, while 35 races are scheduled on the turf track.

Away from the track, the venue will host recreational, community and cultural activities for all ages, positioning it as a weekend outing for families and visitors.

The season builds on the steady growth of horse racing in the Kingdom and strengthens Riyadh's place on the international racing map.
