Saudi Arabia has condemned and denounced the Colombian government's decision to open an “embassy” in occupied Jerusalem, describing the step as a flagrant breach of international law and of the relevant resolutions of international legitimacy.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the move directly undermines the legal and historical status of the occupied city and runs counter to the long-established international position on Jerusalem's status.
The Kingdom renewed its call on the international community, including the Security Council and all parties concerned, to shoulder their legal and moral responsibilities and to act urgently to stop what the ministry called “the illegal Israeli policies” that seek to impose a new reality by force and erode the chances of a just and lasting peace.
