Researchers, academics and anyone working on environmental issues can now apply to take part in the second edition of the Red Sea Environment and Biodiversity Conference, which the University of Tabuk will hold on December 2 and 3, 2026, under the theme "Knowledge Innovation for Sustainable Diversity".

Organised with the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture and the Saudi Society for Life Sciences, the conference seeks to protect biodiversity, build a comprehensive database, put forward practical scientific solutions, strengthen links between specialists and raise public awareness. Sessions will cover four main themes: Red Sea environments; biodiversity and conservation; water sustainability and modern technologies; and the blue economy.

It is open to university faculty, undergraduate and postgraduate students, and specialists and researchers at research centres and related bodies, who may submit scientific papers or research posters. Prizes will go to the best scientific presentation and the best poster, and outstanding papers may be published in special issues of peer-reviewed journals.

The university said abstracts will be received and reviewed until October 31, registration to present a paper or poster closes on November 2, and papers accepted for presentation and nominated for publication will be announced on November 20. Full details and registration conditions are available on the university's website.
