Skywatchers across the Kingdom were treated yesterday evening to the waxing crescent of Rabi’ Al-Awwal appearing next to Venus shortly after sunset, a sight visible without any instruments.
Mohammed Al-Hazimi, a member of the Astronomy and Space Club, said the pairing gave amateur astronomers and photographers an ideal chance to observe and capture the event.
He added that conjunctions like this stimulate public interest in watching the sky and in learning how celestial bodies move and where they sit.
