Saudi Arabia, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI) held a side event on AI policy tools at the UNESCO Global Forum on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence in Riyadh, aimed at helping countries design and implement AI policies that fit their priorities and digital readiness.

The OECD presented its platform for developing and assessing AI policies, explaining how to use it and the resources and guidance it offers, which take account of countries' economic and cultural circumstances and support the OECD AI Principles on innovation and human rights.

In practical working groups, country representatives used the platform to set priorities, review current policies, spot gaps, learn from other countries' experience and agree on concrete steps toward AI policies that meet their needs.
