Parks and green spaces have become a pillar of tourism and quality of life, evolving from simple natural retreats into full recreational destinations that attract all ages and add lasting environmental and aesthetic value.
The Eastern Region Municipality is continuing to expand green areas and improve the urban landscape through a series of development projects, in line with the Quality of Life Program and Saudi Vision 2030.
According to the municipality, the region has more than 980 parks and public squares, 18 major parks, 14 waterfront destinations and 213 walking tracks.
It said its park and green-space projects follow modern planning standards to serve all segments of society, with areas for recreation and relaxation as well as facilities for sports and social activities.
