The Eastern Province branch of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority responded to 13,040 ambulance reports in August 2026, out of 38,439 calls received by its medical dispatch and ambulance operations centre, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA). The calls included both emergency reports and enquiries.
The branch said its ambulance teams attended 10,420 cases in the field. Of these, 6,942 patients were transported to hospitals, while 3,478 received emergency medical care at the scene and did not need to be moved, based on the assessment of the specialised teams.
The branch urged the public to request ambulance services immediately in any emergency by calling 997.
For residents of the Eastern Province, the figures are a reminder that calling 997 at once connects them directly to the ambulance operations centre.
