Qassim University Medical City has successfully operated on a man in his 50s who fractured his spine in a fall from a height.

He was brought in as an emergency, and examinations and imaging showed an unstable spinal fracture that required surgery.

A team led by spine surgery consultant Dr. Abdullah Alsaeed used a minimally invasive technique, working through small incisions rather than extensive open surgery. The approach spares surrounding muscles and tissues, reduces blood loss and post-operative pain, and allows patients to recover and move again more quickly.

The operation was a success: the patient was discharged within two days, has returned to his daily activities and is in stable condition.
