Saudi Arabia has warned of the gravity of the situation in the region and renewed its condemnation of attacks by the Israeli occupation on Palestine and Lebanon.
The position was set out in a speech by the Kingdom's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Dr. Abdulaziz Alwasil, who also reiterated the Kingdom's condemnation of Iranian attacks on civilian facilities and the human and material damage they caused.
The Kingdom restated its rejection of any change to the historical and legal status quo of Jerusalem and its Islamic holy sites, and condemned illegal settlement activity as a breach of international law that undermines the chances of peace.
Peace, the Kingdom said, requires a ceasefire, preventing displacement, withdrawal from Gaza and the establishment of a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders.
