Two schools and a community facility in the city of Al-Qusayr in Syria's Homs Governorate are set to be rehabilitated under a joint executive programme signed yesterday by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) and a civil society organisation.
Eng. Ahmed bin Ali Al-Baiz, KSrelief's Assistant Supervisor General for Operations and Programs, signed the agreement. The project is expected to benefit 2,715 people directly and 12,500 people indirectly.
Work will cover 53 classrooms, 17 administrative rooms and a number of laboratories and halls, and the buildings will also be furnished and fitted with solar power.
The project falls under the programme to restore educational assets in Syria, which so far has rehabilitated, built and equipped 62 schools in several governorates.
KSrelief said the effort is part of the Kingdom's humanitarian work to support education across Syria's governorates, helping schools resume their educational and social role and giving students a safe learning environment.
