Prince Fawaz bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Taif, today launched the World Mental Health Day 2026 program hosted by Erada Mental Health Hospital in Taif. The events, held at the hospital, carry the slogan “Lived experiences heard: real voices, real change”.
During his visit, the governor opened the “Halfway House”, which has room for 20 beds in its first phase. It is designed as a comprehensive rehabilitation setting that supports patients and helps them reintegrate into the community.
Touring the house, Prince Fawaz saw rooms set aside for social interaction, medical care, recreation and rehabilitation, two outdoor sports pitches, and a dedicated entrance that gives residents privacy when coming and going, as the rehabilitation program requires.
He was briefed by the hospital's director, specialist Muhaimid Al-Sawat, on the project's components, operating plans and future programs, and watched a video presentation on the stages of implementation and the services offered to patients.
