By the 28th day of Ramadan, 1,590 men and women volunteers had gathered 174,358 surplus iftar meals at the Prophet's Mosque, according to Grace Conservation Association.

Volunteers also collected 150,172 bottles of water, as well as milk, packaged dates, baked goods and other food, which went to thousands of fasting people and eligible recipients, reflecting social solidarity and the best use of leftover iftar food.

The work took 7,950 volunteer hours and was supported by 250 cooling bags and eight vehicles to move the food.

The initiative was carried out in partnership with the General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque and the General Authority for Awqaf, to serve Umrah performers and visitors to the Prophet's Mosque, raise awareness of preserving food and cut waste during Ramadan.
