Taif University has made a major leap in the 2026 Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), published by ShanghaiRanking, climbing 219 places to 408th worldwide from 627th in 2025.

Nationally, it has risen to fourth among Saudi universities, up from sixth in the previous edition, underlining its growing academic standing at home and abroad.

The university attributed the progress to continuing work to develop its research system and sharpen its academic competitiveness.
