Volunteers joined the Border Guard in Northern Borders Region to plant seedlings and native plants suited to the local environment, in an initiative aimed at raising environmental awareness and promoting social responsibility.

The campaign sought to improve the appearance of selected sites and increase green cover.

Participants were also told about the benefits of planting and its role in keeping the ecosystem in balance, as part of the Border Guard's awareness programmes supporting community partnership and quality-of-life goals.
