Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz received Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Asim Munir, in Riyadh for talks on the attacks targeting Makkah and civilian and economic facilities in the Kingdom.

The two sides praised the results of the meeting of chiefs of staff of the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement states and underlined the need to keep up joint efforts under the agreement to confront the attacks.

Attending were Dr. Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban, Minister of State, Cabinet Member and National Security Adviser; Chief of the General Staff Gen. Fayyad bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili; Hisham bin Abdulaziz bin Saif, Adviser to the Minister of Defense for Intelligence Affairs; and several Pakistani officials.
