The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has directed that a mosque to be built north of Riyadh be named after King Abdulaziz, acting on a proposal from His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
King Salman also directed the allocation of an 88,000-square-meter plot along King Abdulaziz Road for the construction of the mosque.
The naming pays tribute to the late King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud, his historic role in unifying the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, his national legacy and his commitment to building mosques throughout the Kingdom.
